Jimmy "Jimbo" Gibbons  

JIMMY GIBBONS Jr.
Jimmy "Jimbo" Gibbons Jr., 43, died Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Lexington Medical Center.

Born in Sumter, he was the son of the late Jimmy Gibbons and the late Peggy Bryant Gibbons. Mr. Gibbons was a member of Temple Baptist Church and retired from Carolina Furniture Works Inc.

Survivors include a sister, Lorraine Disher (Randy) of Sumter; and two nephews, Brandon Disher of Sumter and Michael Disher of Fort Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Allan Glass officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Corlis, Richard Corlis, Ricky Ridgeway, Mike Callahan, Randy Disher, William Disher, Joey Newhouse, Sammy Holladay, Patrick Cromer, Leroy Stiegerwalt and Tony Morris.
Honorary pallbearers will be Teddy Spencer, Rich Asmo and Tony Ridgeway.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Temple Baptist Church and other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church, 120 Pinewood Road, Sumter, SC 29150.
Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.

Jimmy was one of those people when you meet him you love him. He was the most giving and caring person I ever met. I was lucky to have know him almost 10 years. He will be missed more than words can say. We will always love him and he will be with us forever.
